Custom Packaging helps Herbal Mist Make a Good First Impression on Retailers

Herbal Mist is a line of all-natural, fresh-brewed teas infused with Yerba Mate and real fruit flavors. As a premium product, it can’t be presented to retailers like any standard beverage.

“We are not walking in with random bottles tucked under our arm,” explained Herbal Mist CEO Sam Levin. His brand needed eye-catching packaging to stand out from the crowd.

That’s where BoxUp came in. Herbal Mist considered their wide range of custom packaging solutions to arrive at the perfect design. They created a presentation box that offered a completely unique display. In fact, Levin didn’t even use one of BoxUp’s 21 stock sizes to design it. He worked directly with BoxUp founder and CEO, Curt Stephens, to develop the box from the ground up. The result was a professional, informative sales piece highlighting Herbal Mist’s all-natural ingredients and flavors.

Traditionally, getting a natural drink product on the retail shelf involves door-to-door selling. You need to capture your audience’s attention by making it immediately clear how your product is different.

Actually, Herbal Mist doesn’t even need to walk in the door at all.

“Nobody really likes to be ‘sold,’ so we mail the BoxUp Herbal Mist box to potential customers, allow them to try it, and then follow up in a brief period of time by phone and see if they are interested.”

The process appears to be working, as Herbal Mist is gaining fans rapidly. It’s on shelves regionally in Sam’s Club, ShopRite and Whole Foods stores, among others.
