Family, Food and Fun

When it comes to reaching customers, Chick-fil-A, Broad Ripple does so much more than cook up tasty sandwiches, thanks to Michael. As their Marketing Director, his day to day tasks vary, but the goal is always the same: “Everyone here is a team and looks for ways to put the guest first in all aspects of the business,” he says.

With a friendly work environment to complement his creative drive, Michael has plenty of support to make his ideas a reality, and events such as Father/Son Football day can have a positive impact on the whole community.

Fathers and sons came to the store to enjoy time with one another in a football-themed atmosphere, and the boys took home BoxUp boxes packed with specially-designed built-in flick football kits as souvenirs for the happy memory. The result was a successful promotional event that boosted customer enthusiasm on what would typically be a slow night, with the added bonus of creating a space for familial bonding.

The event was such a success, in fact, that the Terre Haute location was inspired to create a Mother’s Tea, big enough to be held at the fairgrounds. Mothers and their little ones registered ahead of time for a day of fun, and Pamela worked from her location with BoxUp to create a very special box packed with goodies for the guests.

With each Chick-fil-A location locally-run and individually owned, the stores have space to develop such creative ways of connecting to their specific communities.

“I have always enjoyed being creative and strategic,” says Michael of his marketing work, which is a career he has long aspired to amid his many passions. As a high school wide receiver football coach and hunter, he can approach customers and colleagues alike with a well-rounded perspective.

“Being outdoors is best,” he says, and it keeps him going strong.

As Michael continues to connect the Broad Ripple Chick-fil-A to its greater community, he looks at problems within his career from every possible angle, setting him, his business and his region up for success.

“I like to push the boundaries and come up with new ways to do things that are more efficient/effective,” he says. “I’m someone who likes creative freedom and the ability to think outside the box.”
