It Takes Quality to Know Quality
While the ladies at dfine hustle to create branded products and promotional media for their clients, Kate is kept on her toes in her role as the operations director.
“I have my hands in a lot of projects at a time,” she says, but that doesn’t keep her from giving 100%. When time comes to reach out to clients to connect, encourage or thank them, dfine sends out a kit of goodies packed in a custom-printed BoxUp box.
The quality of these gift mailers are important, and Kate says that BoxUp’s custom printing is key.
“We want to make sure their package stands out and makes a strong impact as soon as it delivers.”
Since its inception in 2012, dfine has created ripples and waves around its Denver, Colorado home. Colorado Biz magazine named the company in their Top 100 Woman-Owned list three years in a row. It has grown from a staff of six to now employing thirteen, currently all women, and Kate loves the atmosphere.
“Dfine is a very collaborative and open office,” she says of the environment. “Our team works hard, but also knows how to have fun and enjoy each other’s company.”
Her team has been a source of inspiration and joy, and of all the various aspects of her work, it’s the human element she values the most. “I work with some great people who have become friends, and love the clients we have built relationships with,” says Kate.
As for Kate, herself, she values balance in managing her affairs. “I’m a pretty easy going person and don’t like to waste my energy on negativity or fighting something that isn’t important,” she says.
Taking joy in mountain hikes, relaxing on the patio and her daughter’s giggles fuel her when that balance is hard to find. With fully charged batteries and a positive perspective, Kate won’t sweat the small stuff in favor of prioritizing what’s important.
Whether she’s having fun with helping her colleagues turn ideas into reality or choosing custom mailers to properly reflect dfine’s merit, she says, “I always keep the client’s best interest in mind and know when to jump in to make sure they’re getting the quality we expect.”
